To meet demand, they have an immediate opening for a Technical Solar Consultant to oversee the quality and compliance of solar installations, providing technical training, and staying up-to-date with the latest technological advancements.
Technical Field Operations Manager responsibilities:
- Conduct bi-weekly or monthly site visits post-installation to review work completed by installers, providing constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Provide technical training to the sales team, ensuring they can address any technical inquiries confidently.
- Review all installations to ensure feasibility and compliance with first-time-right (FTR) principles.
- Conduct research on new products to stay updated with the latest technological advancements in solar installations.
- Investigate new policies and procedures impacting solar installations and develop models for integrating new products, such as electric vehicles (EVs) and heat pumps.
- Assist with the launch of operations in new territories, ensuring smooth integration and compliance with regional regulations.
- Establish and maintain guidelines for flat roofing installations, trenching procedures, cable management, battery installation, addressing electrical issues, breaker box specifications, usage of armoured cables, home fuse considerations, determining when a site survey is necessary, etc.
- Proven experience in solar installations and technical operations management.
- Strong knowledge of the latest technological advancements in solar energy and related products.
- Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical team members.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to conduct thorough research and stay updated with industry trends.
- Experience in developing and maintaining installation guidelines and procedures.
- Willingness to travel for site visits and to support operations in new territories
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and positive approach
