Our client, an independent research and consulting firm, is focused on the energy, EH&S and sustainability markets. Through providing authoritative data, analysis, primary research and deep domain expertise, they provide customers (large and small) with strategic advice, best practice frameworks, revenue-generating services and above all, a competitive advantage. Due to continued growth, they now have an exciting opening for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their successful London based sales team.

As an office-based, client facing Business Development Manager, you will:

  • Join a fun, fast-paced and innovative team, closing deals for annual research subscriptions, consulting projects and event sponsorship
  • Work alongside colleagues to achieve quarterly and annual sales targets through building relationships with senior managers in corporate energy, EH&S and sustainability roles
  • Sell primarily to C-level executives in firms supplying energy, EH&S and sustainability products and services
  • Manage the end-to-end sales process and attend industry events and trade shows to network with potential new clients
  • Use social media and an internal sales function to generate warm leads and prospects
  • Travel on a global scale

The ideal sales candidate will:

  • Be educated to degree level
  • Be intelligent, inquisitive and possess a minimum of 2-5 years’ sales experience
  • Possess consultative sales experience gained in software, information, subscription or event sales
  • Have a proven record of sales success
  • Demonstrate business acumen, motivation and the maturity to manage relationships with senior executives in blue chip organisations

The successful candidate can expect a negotiable base salary of 30-40k, dependent upon prior sales experience, with a first-year achievable OTE of 45-60k plus additional benefits. This exciting role comes with ongoing training, designed to enhance and progress your career.
