Our well-backed and rapidly growing client is transforming the hospitality sector, on a global scale. To further develop their platforms, they have an immediate and exciting opening for a Senior Data Engineer to work on a 2-day hybrid model from their London office.
Senior Data Engineer duties will:
- Design and implement data pipelines, handling tasks such as data ingestion, extraction, transformation, automation, and serving data to applications and dashboards.
- Tackle complex data issues, delivering both quick wins and long-term solutions.
- Develop robust, scalable, and efficient integrations using standard protocols and APIs, ensuring they are reliable and secure.
- Optimise and debug data workflows to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Implement and enhance data quality and validation checks to maintain data integrity.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve data discrepancies and other quality issues, validating data from diverse sources.
- Participate in the development and upkeep of the Snowflake data warehouse solution.
- Work closely with the product manager and stakeholders to gather and refine data requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL, including database administration, tuning, and optimisation.
- Familiarity with data pipeline and workflow management tools such as Apache Airflow.
- Proficiency in Git for version control.
- Ability to produce high-quality code, technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and production plans.
- Deep understanding of data challenges and strategies to address them, including data quality, privacy, and security.
- Pragmatic approach to data engineering, balancing immediate needs with long-term scalability.
- Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS.
- Additional tech stack requirements – Django, Snowflake, Terraform, CircleCi
- A base salary of circa 65-75k
