The CRO Role
You’ll own go-to-market. Fully.
From figuring out what works… to building something repeatable… to eventually hiring the team around you.
- Build the GTM playbook from scratch (and break it a few times along the way)
- Own pipeline — visibility, structure, progression
- Drive outbound and self-generated opportunities
- Run and support deals end-to-end
- Expand existing customers and drive upsell
- Bring structure to founder-led sales
- Lay the foundations for a future GTM team
What they need
- 5–8 years in CRO/GTM roles within startups
- Experience going 0 → 1 (not just scaling what’s already there)
- Comfortable owning pipeline and building it yourself
- Able to operate commercially and strategically
- Strong enough to work directly with a founder (and push back when needed)
- Seen what “good” looks like in a high-performing GTM team
What CRO success looks like
- 30 days: You understand every deal, every customer, every moving part
- 60 days: You’re generating pipeline and bringing structure to the chaos
- 90 days: You’ve closed or created new business independently
- 12 months: GTM runs through you, not the founder
- Proper 0 → 1 opportunity
- Work directly with the founder
