Certus Recruitment is partnering with an established, multi-disciplinary engineering and infrastructure consultancy to appoint an experienced Water / Wastewater Construction Manager to its Colorado team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with a Civil Engineering / heavy civil infrastructure background to take ownership of significant water, wastewater, utility and municipal infrastructure projects across Colorado’s Front Range.
Working as the owner’s representative, you will be the key point of contact between clients, engineers, contractors and other project stakeholders, taking responsibility for projects from construction planning through commissioning and closeout.
The Role

• Acting as the primary liaison between owners, design teams and general contractors
• Leading contractor and project coordination meetings
• Reviewing contractor pay applications, invoices and change orders
• Overseeing inspection teams and ensuring work meets plans and technical specifications
• Managing permitting, safety and environmental compliance requirements
• Coordinating system start-ups, tie-ins, operator training and project closeout
• Monitoring project financial performance and profitability
• Supporting proposals and business development for future projects
What We're Looking For
We’re particularly interested in candidates who have built their careers within civil engineering and infrastructure construction, rather than residential/home building.
You’ll ideally bring:
• 7+ years of progressive civil engineering, construction management or infrastructure experience
• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong experience with water/wastewater, utilities, heavy civil, roadways, bridges, land development or other public infrastructure projects
• Experience managing contractors, budgets, schedules, quality and contract administration
• Exposure to municipal, state, federal or other public-sector infrastructure projects
• Experience with delivery methods such as CM/GC, CMaR and Hard-Bid
• PE (Colorado), CCM or PMP accreditation, or the ability to obtain an appropriate qualification within 12 months
Experience with large capital water/wastewater treatment or pipeline projects would be particularly valuable.
Why Join?
The wider organization is an established multi-discipline engineering and consulting business recognized among the ENR Top 500 Design Firms. Its capabilities span civil and land development, transportation, water and wastewater, power and utilities, surveying/geospatial, construction management, geotechnical and environmental services.
Alongside a $105,000–$140,000 base salary, the package includes discretionary bonuses, 401(k) employer match, comprehensive health/dental/vision coverage, PTO and paid holidays, disability and life insurance, education reimbursement and a range of additional benefits.
Location: Fort Collins, CO
Projects are delivered throughout Colorado’s Front Range.
