An experienced Senior Technology Specialist is sought to lead key initiatives across Risk, Compliance, and Governance for a prominent client. This pivotal leadership position ensures that technology practices meet internal and external regulatory standards while continuously enhancing frameworks that support the organisation’s strategic objectives.
Role Purpose
The Senior Technology Specialist – Risk, Compliance, and Governance supports the Head of APAC Strategy & Governance in establishing and maintaining the framework for technology risk and compliance governance. The role provides expert guidance, oversight, and assurance to ensure operational risk, governance, and compliance practices align with organisational priorities. It also delivers thought leadership, sets direction for the function, fosters a high-performance culture, and ensures divisional leaders meet their obligations to the highest standard.

Role Purpose
The Senior Technology Specialist – Risk, Compliance, and Governance supports the Head of APAC Strategy & Governance in establishing and maintaining the framework for technology risk and compliance governance. The role provides expert guidance, oversight, and assurance to ensure operational risk, governance, and compliance practices align with organisational priorities. It also delivers thought leadership, sets direction for the function, fosters a high-performance culture, and ensures divisional leaders meet their obligations to the highest standard.
What the Role Involves
- Applying industry-leading practices to design divisional frameworks that effectively identify and mitigate technical risks.
- Partnering with the Head of Strategy and Governance to develop operational frameworks and manage CIO compliance responsibilities aligned with regulatory standards (e.g., FAR, CPS230, CPS234).
- Collaborating with Divisional Heads of Technology to build scalable frameworks, practices, and accountability structures that ensure full compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.
- Leading the development and oversight of a comprehensive Third-Party (including offshore) strategy, ensuring effective delivery, performance monitoring, and compliance adherence.
- Driving operational efficiency through strategic planning, risk management, performance tracking, and transparent management of costs and SLAs.
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Technology Risk, Compliance, Controls, or Governance, ideally within Financial Services (Fund Management, Superannuation, or Pension sectors).
- Strong background in Agile and Lean delivery methodologies, with a commitment to continuous improvement and performance optimisation.
- Deep knowledge of technology regulatory requirements, with demonstrated experience managing compliance in complex environments.
