Our client is searching for a Data Engineer who’s hands-on, switched-on and ready to take ownership of an evolving data platform. You’ll work across a modern tech stack, help drive scalable data solutions, and be pivotal in building infrastructure that supports smarter decision-making and business growth.

This is not a cog-in-the-machine role. You’ll join a small, ambitious team and play a big part in the design, execution and continuous improvement of a best-in-class data architecture. Think: optimising ELT pipelines, owning the CI/CD process, and enabling a culture of data excellence.

What you'll be doing:

• Designing, improving and maintaining a scalable data architecture
• Leading the implementation of CI/CD pipelines and core tools like dbt and git
• Building reliable, efficient ELT pipelines across structured and unstructured data sources
• Launching and managing data models that serve multiple products and teams
• Ensuring best-in-class schema design and data integrity practices
• Setting and managing refresh schedules, SLAs, and load-balancing for critical datasets
• Collaborating with product, engineering and analytics teams to drive smarter data use
• Playing a key role in data governance and compliance (think GDPR, PPI, etc.)

You’ll be responsible for:

• End-to-end delivery of data engineering projects – from design through to execution
• Championing data best practices and guiding the wider business on infrastructure decisions
• Contributing to broader data initiatives, even outside traditional DE remit (analytics engineering, core table maintenance, etc.)
• Educating and mentoring the wider team in all things data engineering
• Helping shape quarterly and half-yearly planning from a DE perspective

What we’re looking for:

• 4+ years’ experience in Data Engineering
• Proven expertise with SQL, Python, git and dbt
• Strong background in building and optimising data warehouses and ELT pipelines
• Solid experience across cloud platforms – ideally AWS, Snowflake, or Databricks
• Comfortable working with automation/integration tools (Airflow, Fivetran, Astronomer)
• Hands-on with Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes and modern CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.)

Bonus points if you bring:

• Experience with real-time pipelines (Kafka, Spark, AWS Kinesis)
• Familiarity with observability platforms (Metaplane, MonteCarlo, Datadog)
• Exposure to FinTech, FX or broader financial services
