Business Development Manager — Data, Cloud & AI Transformation
Location: Reading area (Hybrid / Field-based)
Salary: £70,000–£80,000 base + £70,000–£80,000 OTE
Type: Full-time, permanent

 
A growing, globally-backed technology business is hiring a Business Development Manager to drive growth within a newly established Data, Cloud & AI practice.
 
This is a high-impact, new business role focused on selling complex transformation programmes across data migration, legacy modernisation, and AI-readiness. It’s a strong fit for someone who has operated in environments such as complex data migration specialists, high-volume cloud/tenant migration vendors, Microsoft-focused consultancies, or MSPs and solution partners.
 
The Role
 
This is a pure hunter role, responsible for building pipeline and winning new logos across mid-market and enterprise accounts.
 
The focus is on high-value engagements including complex data migration, legacy estate modernisation, M365 transformation, and governance, risk, compliance (GRC) and AI-readiness platforms.
 
You’ll work closely with technical and delivery teams to shape tailored, outcome-led solutions—engaging senior stakeholders and positioning value at a strategic level.
 
What You’ll Be Selling
  • Complex Data Migration & Legacy Modernisation programmes
  • High-volume Cloud & Tenant Migration solutions
  • Microsoft ecosystem solutions (M365, Azure, data platforms)
  • Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) and AI-readiness platforms
  • Managed and professional services across cloud and data transformation
What You’ll Do
  • Generate net-new business and build a high-quality sales pipeline
  • Target CIOs, CTOs, CDOs, and senior IT leadership
  • Lead full sales cycles (typically 3–6 months, £100k+ ACV)
  • Position complex, multi-stakeholder transformation solutions
  • Collaborate with leadership and technical teams on solution design
  • Contribute to go-to-market strategy and early-stage growth initiatives
  • Help shape the future commercial engine as the practice scales
What You’ll Bring
  • Proven track record in Data, Cloud, or AI-related services sales
  • Experience in environments such as:
    • Data migration & legacy modernisation specialists
    • High-volume cloud / tenant migration vendors
    • Microsoft partners, MSPs, or solution providers
  • Strong background selling £100k+ deals into mid-market / enterprise
  • Hunter mindset with the ability to generate pipeline from scratch
  • Credibility engaging senior technology stakeholders
  • Experience selling consultative, outcome-based solutions
  • Understanding of M365, Azure, GRC, or AI-readiness programmes

Working Model
