Senior IT Specialist – Operations
London (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days WFH)
£50,000–£55,000 per annum + bonus

Certus Recruitment is partnering with a global organisation to appoint a Senior IT Specialist to support and enhance core infrastructure operations across EMEA and Asiana, from a London headquarters base. This is a hands-on role for an experienced operations professional who wants to combine day-to-day stability, project delivery, and stakeholder-facing work within a modern hybrid setup.

The opportunity
  • Take ownership of key infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage) to keep systems secure, resilient, and high performing.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex operational issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business users across multiple regions.
  • Contribute to upgrades, migrations, and rollouts, working closely with central IT and regional stakeholders.
  • Work from a London office three days per week, with two days WFH as part of a balanced hybrid model.
What you will do
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimise infrastructure, including patching, capacity, and performance tuning.
  • Provide advanced support on escalated tickets, system administration, and network troubleshooting.
  • Implement and uphold security, compliance, and data protection controls in line with corporate standards.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors on services, implementations, and support activities.
  • Partner with business units across EMEA and AsiaPac to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
What you bring
  • 5–7+ years in IT operations within an enterprise environment, covering servers, networks, and security.
  • Strong experience with cloud technologies, virtualisation, and enterprise applications.
  • A relevant IT or Computer Science degree (or equivalent experience) plus ideally certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, or AWS.
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to work effectively with international stakeholders.
Reward, benefits and culture
  • Alongside a base salary of £50,000–£55,000 plus bonus, the successful candidate will enjoy a well-rounded benefits package designed to support wellbeing, development, and work–life balance. Key highlights include:
  • 25 days’ annual leave, plus a range of special leave options including study leave, public duty leave and volunteering leave.
  • Life assurance and income protection, with optional private medical insurance, healthcare cash plan, and critical illness cover (taxable benefits).
  • Pension scheme, eyecare support, and a Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Staff development opportunities with access to LinkedIn Learning and a Wise & Well wellbeing programme.
  • Perkbox membership, Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), and a season ticket loan to support daily commuting.
  • Employee referral bonus scheme and a supportive, learning-focused culture.
