Senior Splunk Security Specialist responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Splunk components, including Splunk Enterprise and Universal Forwarders
• Monitor and optimise Splunk clusters for efficient data processing
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues to maintain high availability and reliability
• Develop strategies for data ingestion and parsing from various sources
• Create and refine search queries and reports for data insights
• Implement security protocols and monitor for suspicious activities
• Write automation scripts in SPL, Python, or Bash to streamline tasks
• Maintain documentation of configurations and train IT team members on Splunk best practices

Senior Splunk Security Specialist skills, traits, and experience:  

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
• Significant experience as a Splunk Engineer in enterprise settings
• Proficiency in SPL and scripting languages such as Python or Bash
• Deep understanding of Splunk architecture and best practices
• Expertise in data ingestion strategy design
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration across teams
• Must possess a valid NATO Clearance
